How does Laser Hair Removal work?
- Laser light targets the pigment in the hair follicle.
- Heat is absorbed and destroys the cells lining the hair follicle specifically around the bulb, bulge, and vascular supply, preventing the hair from growing back.

Are the treatments painful?
The Gentle system uses a patented Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD™), which prepares the skin for treatment by spraying the upper layers with a cooling burst of cryogen in adjustable durations, milliseconds before and after the laser pulse. DCD helps ensure that Gentle treatments are as comfortable as they are effective.
What precautions should I take throughout this process?
Discuss your specific needs with us before beginning the Gentle treatments, but there are a few precautions you’ll need to take.
Avoid sun exposure at least two weeks before a Gentle hair removal treatment. Do not bleach, pluck or wax four to six weeks before and after, and wait until your tan fades before beginning treatment.
Before a pigmented or vascular lesion treatment, skin should be clean-shaven and thoroughly cleansed. It is important not to expose the intended treatment area to sunlight or tanning booth light prior to or immediately after treatment.
Can all skin types be treated?

How long do Gentle treatments take, and how many treatments will I require?

Are there any side effects?
All treatment results are individual, but most procedures have a low risk of adverse side effects. Some patients experience pigment changes that generally vanish over time.
What is the difference between Candela Medical Grade lasers and IPL lasers?
