It’s become one of our favourite at-home foot care treatments, and for good reason! Let me walk you through how it works, why it’s a valuable addition to your routine, and how to use it effectively.
What Is the Ginger & Me Foot Peel?
Think of this peel as a gentle, salon-quality secret for removing dead, rough skin and revealing soft, smooth feet underneath. The product utilises a blend of botanical acids—such as fruit- and plant-derived components—to promote natural exfoliation without harsh abrasion. Click here to read about the safe chemicals involved with the process.
Unlike a scrub (which you physically rub to slough off skin), this peel works from within, loosening the bonds between dead skin cells over several days. The result? You gradually shed the dead layer, revealing fresh, new skin beneath.
Why We Love It at Mabin House
There are a few standout reasons this product has become a regular pick in our in-store product offerings:
-
Gentle yet effective: It doesn’t rely on harsh crystals or aggressive filing, making it kinder to sensitive skin.
-
Long-lasting effect: The peeling process occurs over several days, allowing your feet to continue improving day by day.
-
Great at-home complement: Whether you’ve had one of our pedicures or are just doing self-care between visits, this peel fills that gap.
-
Perfect for gifting: It’s unique, effective, and comes in a size that fits beautifully under the Christmas tree.
- We can’t be the only ones who find watching those little layers peel away oddly satisfying… right?
How to Use It — Step by Step
Here’s how your clients or readers should use the Ginger & Me Foot Peel Mask for best results (and to avoid surprises):
-
Clean your feet thoroughly: Wash your feet to remove oils, lotions, and dirt, then dry them thoroughly.
-
Slip on the peel socks: The Ginger & Me Foot Peel comes in pre-soaked “sock masks.” Pop them on like a pair of slippers, making sure the liquid is evenly covering your soles.
-
Relax and let it work: Put your feet up and enjoy some downtime while the socks do the magic (about 60–90 minutes).
-
Remove & rinse: Take off the socks and gently rinse your feet with warm water.
-
Watch the magic happen: Over the next 3–7 days, the dead skin will start to shed on its own.
-
Moisturise: Once the peeling has finished, apply a nourishing foot cream, such as the VOESH Solemate Heel Balm, available in-store, to keep your fresh, new skin soft and hydrated.
Important notes & cautions
-
Perform a patch test (on a small area) before using it on the entire foot, especially if you have sensitive skin.
-
Do not use on cracked or bleeding skin, open wounds, or if you have certain medical foot conditions (e.g. severe neuropathy) without professional advice.
-
Avoid using other exfoliants or harsh treatments on your feet during the peeling phase.
When to Use It — Timing & Frequency
We don’t recommend using the peel too frequently. Once or twice a year is plenty for many people, especially when combined with regular maintenance pedicures. The best times to use it are:
-
A few weeks before sandal season
-
As a prep for your pedicure, to let the fresh skin reveal itself
-
As a special treat during breaks in your regular foot care routine
Before & After: What to Expect
-
Day 1–2: Your feet feel mostly normal, maybe a little tight if they were dry.
-
Days 3–5: Peeling starts—shell-like flakes begin to shed, especially from heels and callused areas.
-
Days 6–8 (or more): Most peeling slows or stops. Your soles look clearer, smoother, and generally healthier.
Many people are surprised by how dramatically their feet transform. What looked rough or dull becomes soft and fresh underneath.
Combine it with one of our fabulous pedicures.
Using the Ginger & Me Foot Peel at home is fantastic—but it pairs beautifully with a professional pedicure at Mabin House. Imagine doing the peel in the days ahead, letting your feet do the work, and then walking into our spa for a Walking on Sunshine Pedicure to complete the treatment: we’ll hydrate, polish, soothe, and pamper your newly resurfaced skin.
This combo gives you better results and helps keep your feet in great shape for longer, so you’re ready to show them off this summer or at a festive gathering.
