International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate, uplift, and appreciate the remarkable wāhine around us. At our workplace, we’re lucky to be surrounded by strong, funny, creative, and inspiring women every day. To mark the occasion, we asked some of our team members a few fun and quirky questions—and their answers did not disappoint!
If You Could Rename One Everyday Object, What Would It Be?
Micki gave this one some serious thought before deciding that coffee needs a rebrand. “If it’s like a strooong coffee, then it’s a farCoff-ee. If it’s a sweet coffee, then it’s a co-fefe.” And as a side note, she added, “Maybe I’d rename myself. I’d legally change my name to Mi-Chayla.”
If You Had to Be Trapped in a TV Show for a Month, Which One Would You Pick?
Eva had no hesitation—”Friends!” She explained, “I know that they live in New York and there’s always something fun to do, but they’re always doing something at like 9pm at night and it’s a work night. It inspires me to actually do stuff after work and live life outside of work really, cause usually I’m tired by 9pm but it’s like FUN!”
If Your Personality Was a Colour, What Would It Be?
Tina initially chose pink, but then second-guessed herself. “Or would it though? I don’t know! Pink was the first thing that came to my brain. Soft and fluffy but sometimes annoyingly icky.” A perfect mix of sweet and sassy!
If You Had to Pick a Theme Song That Plays Every Time You Walk Into a Room, What Would It Be?
Nadia tested out a few options—”Jaws? No. Hannah Montana? No.” After trying out a few more songs, she finally landed on the perfect choice: “The theme song from H2O: Just Add Water. I don’t think I’d get sick of that. It’s iconic.”
If You Were a Cocktail, What Would You Be Called and What Would Be in It?
Molly had a vision: “It would be gin—did you know there’s a gin that can change colour? You put a certain tonic in it and it goes purple and pink. Yeah, it would definitely have gin in it, a juniper berry spiced cocktail with all the trimmings. It would have to have applemint in it and fancy ice—not standard ice, it’s gotta be cool shaped ice, one big round one, an ice ball.” And the name? “Good Golly Miss Molly. We’ll go with that.”
We found the gin Molly mentioned HERE! It’s called ‘Butterfly Effect Gin’
What’s the Weirdest or Most Unexpected Skill You Have?
Jess blew our minds with this one—”Ok, I know the answer to this. I can mirror write, I can write backwards and you can hold it up to a mirror and it will read forwards. And I can write with both hands, I’m just a bit slower with my right hand.” She shared, “I used to write in a diary sometimes as a kid, and so nobody could read it, I taught myself to write backwards.” Genius!
If You Could Have Dinner with Any Fictional Female Character, Who Would It Be and What Are You Having for Dinner?
Elicia didn’t skip a beat—”I would have dinner with a lady called Peggy Carter. She’s an agent from a Marvel series and she’s just like a badass super spy.” As for the meal? “She’s British, so what would we have for dinner? A nice roast or a fat piece of steak.” Sounds like a powerhouse dinner date!
International Women’s Day is about celebrating all the unique, bold, and brilliant women who make our world better. Whether it’s through their humour, their talents, or their everyday magic, the women around us inspire us in more ways than we can count.
